I think he has more twitter followers than NBC has viewers for their news. If he doesn't think he is getting a fair shake from them why shouldn't he go right to his followers/supporters to let them know? The ability to communicate with millions of people pretty instantly has change the hold the networks have on people's access to news and/or information and in this case response to a story.
NBC, like a few others have run with this CIA story with no actual sources or evidence as though it were a fact. Ask someone to produce the evidence and you get crickets chirping.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - I don't think he responds to EVERY slight he gets. There are simply too many from the left to tweet back on. Why should he not challenge NBC or others when they put a story out that sounds like it might be true by really has no solid evidence? The press doesn't like the shot coming back. A free press does not equal people not being able to respond. Trump has found a way to counter some (not all) of the negative stories and he is hit in.
The media proved beyond a reasonable doubt over this election cycle that they were in the bag for HRC and working against Trump. Why should he now trust them to play it straight? I think over time he will tweet less and less as it will not be as necessary once he is governing. I can't wait to see his first press conference.

I look at it from this lens. Obama was getting and to an extent, is still getting hit with criticisms but doesn't respond to everyone and hasn't gone to social media to express his dissatisfaction. For me, being president means having to put up with other people children and their...whatevers. That's just the job. Like I said, if Trump thinks that every story, article, or comment should be cotton candy rainbows and fluffy, pink bunnies, then he needs to quit. Once he sits in that chair in the White House, all bets are off and he's fair game.

SGT William Howell Yes, you do have the right to say what you want but two things. One, freedom of speech doesn't protect you from the consequences of what you say and two, you can't expect everyone to call it like YOU see it and not the way they see it nor get mad when they talk about you the same way you talk about them. Respect goes up and comes down and if I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times. If Trump wants respect he'd better start giving it because as we've seen these past 8 years, just because your position demands it doesn't mean you will get it.

SSG Michael Hartsfield While that may be true, in this instance, Trump called it like it was. NBC ran a piece that is nothing more than a conspiracy theory with no actual proof of anything they claimed. So it is fake news. I'll remind you of what President Obama said.
President Barack Obama has spoken out about fake news on Facebook and other media platforms, suggesting that it helped undermine the US political process.
“If we are not serious about facts and what’s true and what’s not, if we can’t discriminate between serious arguments and propaganda, then we have problems,” he said during a press conference in Germany.
So it says to me that Trump is being a responsible American and doing the right thing calling for NBC to report real news.

I'd like to know what narrative was pushed by NBC that is considered "fake news".

I think it is great. NBC News is inaccurate and biased. I don't tweet that to NBC because well tweeting is for douche bags and if I did nobody would care that I tweeted anything.

So let me ask you this. Do you respond to every criticism you get and if not, why not?

I do not for a couple of reasons. One, my name is not a brand name. The Don's is worth billions of dollars. He needs to protect it. I do respond when somebody lies or spreads false information. NBC's report was aired as factual information when none of it was anything but a conspiracy theory. What happened to the stopping of "fake news?" or is that just when it is convenient for liberals not to advance unity.

Ok. First, Trump is going to be president and his brand name will not apply. If that's the case, he needs to quit and return to being a businessman. He can't be a businessman and president as our country deserves his full attention and not be treated like a side hustle. Second, fake news has been reported on Obama since 2008 and to a degree is still being reported and believed as fact by a segment of our nation. Now, with regard to that story every news outlet from NBC news to the Wall Street Journal are posting it. Are they all liars or does this have teeth? Also, I'd be rather leery of you talking about Liberals not wanting to advance unity, unless you were in a coma for the past 8 years and didn't see the way the Republican led Congress and the conservative media treated and talked about Obama.
