I have read a couple different books Anaconda and wondered what was the holdup in awarding Tech Sgt. John A. Chapman the Medal of Honor. His actions during that 17 hours operation were absolutely within the MOH criteria.

He was awarded the Silver Star, and then the Airforce was ordered to look into upgrading some of their Valor Awards and he was number one on the list. If you want to know why it was delayed you might want to ask his Team Leader and NSW. This was a big fight between the SOF worlds when this all went down, never leave a man behind, well guess DEVGRU didn't get that message at that time.
