You know I could perhaps understand American position of isolation in 20s & 30s but in today's climate of international economics it makes no sense. Yet Trump seems bound to return US to isolationism.

It's just dillussionalism on the part of the American citizen I mean get real my studies of history show we were never truly isolationist I can point out at no time where we economically independent, that issolationists that is talked about never existed.

Ya we tend to be isolationist on things we don't want to be involved in but open arms on things we think will help us.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - our isolationism back in the 30s was just declaration that we wouldn't get involved in foreign wars but that didn't work out to well because we still traded with countries that were at war and eventually we had to pick a side.
