Any talk of tax cuts from the right concerns me. The reality is that my taxes went up with the last "cut". We also have decades of evidence that trickle-down economics are an abject failure, even though the GOP touts it as the answer for everything.
So this get's a big "Nope" form me.
We could look at cutting spending by going after the shit defense contractors pull on us all the time (like when the Navy was charged $400 for a 20gb HDD, and a COTS drive with the EXACT SAME MODEL NUMBER from Toshiba via Fry's Electronics was $20). Address all the bullshit we waste money on. Use whatever funds are freed up to balance the necessary spending. Anything left over can go back to the people. But balance the damn budget first. Until then, we are just being set up for a bigger disaster when everyone else decides to stop buying our debt.

SGT James Murphy - Unless you want to pay out of pocket for roads, police, and every other public utility you use, then it's not theft.
Hell, man. You're a Vet. Your salary was paid for 100% by taxation. Should all military service be free? You can't quit, don't get paid, and are expected to die when your superiors demand it. Because that is, by definition, slavery.
Taxation is necessary in any society with actual structure to it. We aren't all tending our own fields with a handful of bartering. Taxation becomes increasingly necessary as societies get more complex.

LTJG Edward Bangor Jr - Never The Less, Tax is Theft! The Problem is the corruption of the Tax System so really I wouldn't mind paying a proper tax but it's gone way beyond that! We're now in the realm of outright theft and we all know this...
