From the article:
"It also allows the government to track and monitor Americans without a warrant, even when there is no evidence they're breaking the law."

Be afraid, be very afraid.

What kills me are the Trump supporters that point out how the list began in 2011 under Obama but ignore that Obama’s watchlist targeted foreign terrorist organizations and foreign global black markets that threatened the US. It didn’t target Americans. But I’m sure prosecution of a foreign criminal organization will lead to identifying US suspects that will require warrants and due process.

We gave up the 4th Amendment long ago, and both parties have abused it.

Sure and the surveillance of Americans citizens under the Patriot Act makes Bush a Democrat too. Come on, Jack. Trump and Republicans can’t complain about FISA warrants that catch Americans committing a crime while a foreign operative is under surveillance then turnaround and say this new criteria for TOC watchlist is acceptable.

I read it and IF YOU had actually read my comment to your posting you would see a quote from within the article. chu deflected, period. He didn't address the TOC watchlist origin, he attacked another republican president.

MAJ James Woods - Sorry, forgot the "Patriot" Act. Remind me. Which party controlled Congress and passed that?

CPT Jack Durish Yes. Democratic Senate, Republican House and Republican President. It was a very bipartisan bill that kept getting deauthorized. Amazing how government could use terrorism and war as a scapegoat for intrusive surveillance.
TOC in 2011 was just one more terrorist and foreign criminal watchlist. No reason to expand it to include American citizens and political organizations (foreign and domestic).
