Which Foreign Area Analysts should the President listen to? The ones who made the mess? Sure, they're just the ones to fix it, right?

You know Captain, when you're right - you're right! (as much as I may hate to admit it sometimes)
But what FAOs created the mess? Which mess are you referring too? Afghanistan? Iraq? I think the prior-prior adminstration went against the FAOs in that debacle. That's why we're where we are today. Political hubris, alternate facts in intelligence, MIC lobbying etc...
Syria? That's Obama's mess for sure. No will to enforce his own ultimatums. Look where that county is now. I can even lay Iraq in Obama's lap as he left without any clear and real idea of Iraq's own military capabilities. And look where Iraq is today...
We can only provide the data Captain, unfortunately the politicians take over from there.

Pic didn't come out too well, essentially the areas we haven't banned are the ones that have attracted us but Trump had business interests in all of them. Those we have, have done nothing (yet) and have little economic impact in the US

Some DHS Employees Are Suspicious of 'Extreme Vetting'
The Department of Homeland Security has 30 days to figure out what "extreme vetting" means. Some DHS officials and counterterrorism experts find the concept dubious.
