Trump says it’s time for a general to run the Pentagon. Is he right?

Current Pentagon leaders have been moving toward major changes, like opening all combat roles to women and looking at ways to attract new talent by shaking up the personnel system. Trump has laid out plans to greatly expand the size of the military after years of budget cuts. He also has said he expects his top generals and defense leaders to deliver a plan to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) within 30 days of him taking office.
