SSG(P) (Join to see) What will ultimately determine the final cost will be the military. It will be the needs for airborne command and control. The more the military needs integrated into the aircraft, the higher the cost will be. The aircraft currently in service are 747-200 aircraft. They are extremely outdated versions of the airframe. The cost of maintenance is going to continue to rise with each passing year. These are not classic cars that have many after market parts. These are military transports converted from civilian airliners. Mr. Trump should not be so hasty in jumping on the "Don't want, don't need, cancel the order." He should instead wait to see what the projected maintenance costs are versus the costs of the new aircraft. If they had been bought new when Mr. Obama took office, and it was just replacement for the sake of replacement I could see saying outright cancel the order. These planes have been in the air longer than some of the people repairing them have been alive.

Sir,
Great answer. Don't you agree they saved money by using UN puke blue paint?
It appears, Navy blue must cost to much.
WTF Over?

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Yeah it does kind of have that newborn baby blanket thing going for it. Why not simplify it even further. If they want it to be all kinds of pretty, than use an inexpensive color. Might I suggest simple white with the presidential seal on it. If they want to go with effectiveness, use radar absorbing paint to reduce the radar signature and make it harder for a threat to target the aircraft. I agree fully though, get rid of the powder blue. Only ones who should be wearing that color are newborn babies and NC Tar Heels.

Actuallly its not the actual cost, its still in the planning phase and estimated for BOTH planes to cost around 2 Billion.
With that said, the reason why he sent the tweet was because the head of Boeing critizied him and he got upset

If the amount was released and he said nothing, I think more people would be blaming him for the cost. To me, it is an extremely important purchase and I'm fine with any number in the ballpark. The waste money there is in many other areas of this government make that look like chump change, especially considering what you get for it.

Since the President elect likes to make deals, without citing factual evidence, how much can we beg the question was this a signal to Boeing that Trump one [his 747] should get that funding? But like CPT Pedro Meza said, once they tell him, it cost this much to keep you alive in case of this event, he'll change his mind on the subject

MCPO Roger Collins - You have just shown the influence of lobbyist. Buy stock if you can, you will make money.

SSG (Join to see) - Time to check to see if the Trump Company has bought Boeing Stocks, I would cause stocks will come down, but will go up in February.
