The American International Automobile Dealers Association [metonym] hailed Bob Corker’s (R-TN)—who is Chairman of the Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations—bill as protecting American workers and 570,000 auto retail jobs. However, AIADA President and CEO Cody Lusk said in a statement Wednesday that, “The Trump administration’s demonstrated willingness to use Section 232 to declare certain industries, including steel, aluminum, and autos, threats to national security, and punish them with harsh tariffs, is an actual threat to the American economy.”
The metonym-use in this article does nothing to clarify the national security issue. I'm completely confused on this one, RP Family.

The tariff situation is going to come back and bite someone in the rear.

We have to remember that Canada is the biggest trading partner for 38 of the 50 states. Hopefully it's just temporary situation or is going to backfire on the president after having the lowest unemployment in 50 years.

When it is explained to me why tariffs are good for the rest of the world and bad for us, I will listen. Also, why is subsidizing our farm products any different from what we do?
