My VA Doctor has me doing up an average of 6 hours of Cardiovascular Work per week as well as reseticting my Caloric intake to @ 2000 Calories per day. Yes it is tough. Yes it socks nor eating sweets. But the alternative is not staying in shape and at 65 it is NOT as easy to shed unwanted pounds. We are all Vets. We all rose to challenges before. You can stay in shape. You can lose weight. You just have to do it. By the way my resting heart rate is 59 and my BP is 120/73. The VA will help anyone stay in shape. You just have to want it

LTC Orlando Illi I don't like exercise...never have...never had a problem with my weight till I went thru menopause...you guys are so lucky not to have to experience this. UGH...anyway, menopause and a bad car accident...I gained over 100 lbs....I have, by myself, taken off over 60 of those lbs on my own and now exercise...thought cleaning the house is good exercise....instead of using a vacuum, I use and broom and a Swiffer mop and I swept and mop twice...this works out every muscle in my body. LOL ...and chocolate...no way, not giving it up, but I eat in moderations.
I figure it took me 4 years to put it on...I started my diet nearly 2 years ago and have lost more than half of what I put on....so slowly but surely, I'll get there.
Thanks for you input and encouragement.

This would be good if more facilities had it. Mine doesn't. Weight isn't a problem, no matter what I eat or exercise, I stay skinny. Fitness is another story.
