Weak sauce. CPA for this typhoon is forecasted to be 230nm from Kadena. We won't even be close to the eye wall winds.

I've been here for 4 years and haven't seen a big typhoon yet. It's definitely not a bad thing. Only problem is I'm supposed to be leaving to PH tomorrow for leave so we will see how that goes haha.

This isn't the "big one". We usually don't get big ones after about mid-Oct anyway. You are correct in that we haven't had a direct hit by a decent one in a while.

Look up Super Typhoon Forrest - 1983. Direct hit on Oki. Tough several days. I lost 8 rhombic antennas on Torii She station to that storm. It was fun spending 4 years in “Typhoon Alley.”
