U.N. agency gives green light to lifting of Iran sanctions

The lifting of economic isolation sanctions on Iran could shift the balance of power in the Middle East. About $100 billion dollars that has been frozen in foreign accounts will now be released. It is estimated that about half of this money is already slated to pay debts. The lifting of sanctions will also allow Iran to sell oil on the open market, however the addition of their oil to the already depressed oil market will create more of a drop in the market and they will gain less revenue than they had anticipated with the lifting of the sanctions.

Iran is currently backing Shiite organizations which are fighting the Sunni organizations, including Saudi Arabia in Yemen and Syria.
