Very forward thinking -
I can here it now - "Hey kids back in the days when the Air Force flew planes up in the sky they had a plane called the X-15 that went 4473.87258 miles per hour."
And the curious kid will ask "Why doesn't the Air Force fly planes in the sky now?"
The grounded pilot replies angrily "The F-35 ruined any chances of any maned flights in the sky as its ever growing budget got out of control. Now all the Air Force can afford is the magnificent Maglev. Now we fly on the ground in old A-10 fuselages that ironically fit perfectly on the Maglev"
