Pretty simple solution for this: Follow the rules that have been established for the past 240 years. That is all.

There's something missing in this Article. One cannot join the military, unless one is a US resident (Green Card Holder) which is good for ten years, or a US citizen. People with temporary protected status (TPS) are not allowed to join, they never have. so I don't know what they are talking about to when they say their legal status may expire and could be deported. Every document whether it may be a visa, green card, asylum, temporary protected status has an expiration date that is visible to the naked eye. If you're going to put this information here, let's make sure it's correct. Otherwise, we're confusing people. In other words, alternative facts = lies.

SSG William Bowen
MAVNI was a program that allows non-green card holders to enlist. They had t be legally here for the most part. Apparently, they were taking those that had DACA under consideration on a case by case basis. I just looked it up myself. I can see where the benefit would be as some of these were students or people of exceptional ability, however some also could pose issues with clearances such as refugees, asylees, TPS, and others.

A unique military program known as MAVNI offers a path to citizenship for non-permanent resident aliens.
