Both ships are National Security Cutters. They are well equipped, close to the LCS in capacity. With the same radar, and weapons suite used on the LCS, and other systems including the mast borrowed from from the Arleigh-Burke class DDG. They can also launch either of two types of small boats from the stern ramp while making about 15 kts. Wikipedia has a pretty good overview.
