The fears are well-founded, but you can't wish these technologies from taking shape. As has always been the case throughout history, the good guys must have the edge.

With all the cash the Chinese are dumping into AI/Robotics who do you think will have that edge?

The boffins are being stoopid...

I'm not sure who will have it yet. Certainly, the coastal cities of China score well in studies of student math skills. But there are many smart people around the world that will go to great lengths to move here, settle, and work in the tech industry - so we can make use of our status as a "brain-magnet" (and perhaps, with prudent attention to security, of course) we might consider speeding up and/or easing the citizenship process for immigrants with tech skills. At the time, this is a short-term thing, I think.

__There are things you could do that I don't think would require much more technical sophistication than FASCAM__

Regarding the boffins, _some_ (not all, just some) people in the tech industry are so far out of touch with reality, history, and current events that they might as well be on another planet. The far left, and even some capital-L Libertarians have a complete fantasy view of the world - it's a Disney production.

Wow! I guess the quote saying terrorist will get killer robots could be true. I think we are a ways away from that though. We are just perfecting killer autonomous cars! LOL
