I had heard a while back that there was a Green Beret was in the running; looks to me like a step in the right direction on the University's part. I wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor.

Kind of a culture shock. U of M is a fairly liberal campus. Out of place in western Montana where we are loggers and ranchers. I wish him the best of luck.

That was my thought as well. While I don't what his views and attitudes are, I figured his strong military background alone would put him at odds with the University system.

David that is the perfect reason for sending an SF guy. I remember the first SF imperative; "Know your operational environment". Wow, damn, if we all conducted our daily business applying this simple imperative the world would be a better place.
