SF detachments have a very interesting and varied history. I commanded ODA 7, Bad Tolz as a captain in 1975. I had to interview with the SEC ARMY to get the position. We had one of two known SADM DEVICES. everything was declassified and destroyed after the Cold War. But it was a really fun team to command as a captain. Of course we all thought we were supermen at age 23.

Been so long and don't recall if he was SF; however, I remember an officer at Bragg giving a presentation about his having served @ Spandau and that even though tensions were high, he enjoyed exchanging bottles of liquor and other sundries when guard duty rotated w/his Red Army counterpart (and for sure after the formalities and away from cameras!).
