Unusual Foods People Used to Eat All the Time

Poke and SOS are unusual foods? What a joke.

And my grandparents would argue that the vinegar pie was unusual too. Given the choice of earing or not, I'd eat the pie.

We used to eat polk greens cooked like spinach, my grandmother would walk the fences looking for Polk greens to cook.

My grandmother made Poke Salad, Turtle soup, SOS (Chipped beef)...had all of those and they are good
Limburger and Rye bread…nope. Cannot stand Rye bread
Vinegar Pie never heard of but I have had egg custard, green tomato, pecan and lemon etc.
