Interesting. I've been discharged so long ago that I can't understand the current thought process. I believed we are supposed to offer equal opportunity, and from my understanding of life that doesn't mean equal outcome.

SFC Ryan R. - At the time I was in the middle of it, it didn't seem so rational to me. I guess I matured and learned why life is the way it's supposed to be (probably like you have) and why we do the things we do or did. There is a simplicity that comes from being combat arms, if the plan goes to hell we die, so we learn to make good plans, simple plans that can't go too far wrong. Too many people like to think they have the secret sauce to making everything better; most times they don't. MHO

I read this last night. Equality is difficult and why so many have resisted this for years. Conversely, I know several women that are in better shape than I. I have zero issue with women in combat if they can pass the standardized test. Before some freak out...I am 56 and have been taking the test for 37 years. I have also done the precious Army test in some joint environments and passed them. Anyone can work this everyday and stay in shape. Doing nothing is not preparing.

Another failed social experiment - equal to McNamara's 100,000.
