US Could Have Almost 16K Troops in Afghanistan Next Year

why?

I thought Trump, GOP and their supporters wanted to get out of Afghanistan. All they did the last few years was complain about us still being there. Oh so sad.

The change in tactics with the media to not disclose exact numbers is in keeping with sound OPSEC principles, a refreshing change. Staffing for mission accomplishment is a much safer methodology than capping at an arbitrary number palatable to the media and their sheep. Getting our NATO allies to increase their troop commitments to Afghanistan to help train and advise the Afghan forces will be a strong force multiplier and spread the burden and responsibility across the civilized world (which are all potential terrorist targets).
