Illegal is Illegal and there is a current law on the books for the proper path to America.

SGT (Join to see) - That could be your own interpretations as well. I have not seen a law passed by the Administration that targets a specific group. Do you have an example of the targeting of a particular group?

I never said law, I said view....i.e. tweets from Pres Trump, speeches from Pres Trump (then also Candidate Trump), interviews from the administration, ect., normally only mention those of our neighbors south of our border

I would venture to say that is due to the the sheer numbers of illegal Hispanics and their involvement in criminal activity. if you are illegal, you should be keeping a low profile.

It shows that we weren't just looking at people of other ethnicity but now it should be clear that we merely want people to follow the law to immigrate over to our country.

Normally I would say yes you are correct, but the overall view being pushed by the administration does not reflect that

Not sure what view is being pushed, looks to me like this administration is enforcing the laws on the book equally across the board.

SGT (Join to see) - Well thing is, with that we were banning people of certain nations. Though honestly I'm all for banning all immigration to our country for 5-35 years. That way we can fix our stuff.

Unfortunately, a large number of criminal aliens are Hispanic so therefore they are in the spotlight. Additionally, there are more Hispanics that came into the country illegally, as opposed to most Europeans that may have come here legally, but then became illegal for a variety of reasons. Under the last administration, "visa overstays" were typically not deportable because of the priority enforcement program implemented and the lack of criminal convictions for those people, keeping in mind many Hispanics were also not deported for the same reason. Contrary to what you hear on the news, ICE does not typically go around rounding people up and many, if not most, of these people in question are being arrested by local police for criminal activity so they are not these angels the press makes them out to be.
Pet peeve: The terms "visa overstay" and "overstaying a visa" annoys me. It has turned into the accepted term but is far from accurate for one can be here on an expired visa and be legal, one can be here on a valid visa and be illegal, and one can be here with no visa and be legal, and of course some are here with nothing and illegal as hell. But that's just me.
