US general on Syria: ‘We’re going to be here for a while’

In this ME case, I feel sorry for our Generals.
It is my understanding, after reading cilivian puke info, we need to keep the oil fields out of Iran's and ISIS hands as well as have a say in the politics of the region. (Notice what Turkey did when we pulled our troops away from the northwestern border of Syria and Turkey.)
Without writing a book on this hell hole, the Sunni are fighting the Shia and Syrian government is Syria. The Syrian Democratic Forces are mostly Kurdish fighting ISIS who are Sunni.
Anyway, what a cluster. I pray our military persons in the forward elements secure their perimeter, check avenues of approach and no smoking please. Stay alert and have a plan to blow the **** out of anyone that gets close. (You can use my tax monies to check your grid coordinates with a few HE rounds on points A,B, C and D.) My two full time jobs should pay for four rounds. Maybe.
