US Marines are stationed in Norway to help deter Russia, and Norway may ask them to stay longer

Glad to see the Norwegian gvt proposing to increase defense spending. They, like a number of other left-leaning countries in that area, are well know for shorting their military for other purposes. Maybe it is time such nations begin spending more on their own national defense than social-type programs or depending on the US to protect them.

I trained with the Norwegian Home Guard one winter for two months and was very impressed by their tenacity and bravery.
