I think all parties did the best they could with what they had. Not all objectives are success stories.

Okay, I'm going to take the contrarian position here but from what I'm reading (and hearing here) is that this op was approved and signed off on by the previous administration.
When was the most recent operational intelligence assessment done? You can't go forward on old actionable intelligence.
Yes, I agree we all assume the risks when donning the uniform but we also deserve to not be placed unnecessarily in harm's way when there is no imminent threat to national security.

I feel that the current President will be more likely to green light operations that have less probability of success and more probability of casualties. He's made his more aggressive stance clear and I think we should expect more high-risk operations - there will be more successes, but also more failures and more casualties on our side and more collateral damage.
