During interviews w/ Korean vets for my clinical research on combat trauma, they are still pissed that they could have taken the entire peninsula, but were restrained from doing so. And they fought, what I refer to as the "forgotten Conflict" which followed our "greatest generation". It continues to be a very precarious situation for troops and their families.

Very true. Then again one big historical argument has been that Gen. McArthur merely needed to stop his assault and the North Korean military most likely would’ve surrendered without getting the Chinese involved. Then again some say China would’ve gotten involved anyway to ensure N Korea is a buffer zone from a US controlled S Korea.
Desert Storm Veterans made similar arguments about the Iraq invasion. We could’ve gone all the way to Baghdad but our mission was liberation of Kuwait and not the liberation of Iraq. So many hypotheticals in history.

When I was in the ROK, back in '72-'73, Camp Humphreys was a small base. I went TDY there a couple of times. Pyeongtaek was not very large, but they had the coolest basement disco bar. I did a lot of TDY up and down that peninsula.
