I don't think it will have much of an affect on recruitment or retention. Because let's face it the special operations community is small as it is. A small percentage of males that try out make it through selection process. An even smaller percentage of the females that tried out would make. Due to the fact that they are not physically able to do what men do.
Now with that being said will the powers that be water down the standard of our special operations community to ensure that a few females make the cut that is the question.
But we all need to get past thisus vs them mentality. Because this is the way things are gonna be

Let's not forget that Big Army only sets general standards like APFT and weapons qualification standards. The instructors at the schoolhouse set the standards for assessment and selection and then again for progressing through the Q course. Those gentlemen are operators themselves and may one day serve on a team with the candidates they are assessing. Are they going to lower the standards to make sure more women can pass? I know I wouldn't.

I agree with you man. I see the standards being lowered to some extant so that some women can make the cut. Like you said so that full integration can happen.

As a former instructor in The USAF I saw The Acadamies lower physical standards to allow women a seat in a Fighter. Then the lower standards were passed down to Lackland AFB. The men had 40 percent more muscle mass in the upper body and 33 percent more in the lower body. Addtionally, women have 25% less lungs compacacity. We did what we were told men were set back for not making physical fitness standards & females were passed on to their next duty station

I personally hope the bar stays the same for the schools but I also think that where women are now to be fully integrated that we should have one physical fitness standard all across the board that accommodates both women and men. If women want fair treatment get rid of the separate standards for women all together.

Really you have no say so anymore women are in and it will take an act of congress to change.
It's gonna happen and special forces is special forces no one that is not special enough will not make it in.

Sgt Judy Leonard it is law you are correct, but what happens if operators resign their status. Just something to think about. In the end they have to believe in it.

For one, ego's will prevent them from resigning. There maybe one or two, but they are what we call stupid. There is no way they would pull a mutiny like that. They are still in the military at the end of the day.
