I'll be concerned when Venezuela stops the air tracks coming from Columbia into Venezuela and in turn to the US loaded with drugs. Shortly after Columbia announced a shoot down policy (and followed through on it), the drug trade opted to take shorter flights into a supportive government as a stepping stone to send their drugs into the US. This is why we have AWACS out there by the way. Columbia did their part, it's time for Venezuela to do theirs...

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin - Major; No one is opposing the USAF doing its bit in the "War on __[whatever we are at war against this week]__". That's what they get paid to do.
PS - Don't be surprised to see "The Cartels" start having the UDDAIAAF (United Drug Dealers And Importers Association Air Force) flying escort missions. After all, they have more available money than most of the South American countries.

I never implied anyone was opposing the USAF. We've been operating in the Central and South American hemisphere for a very long time. I grew up as a SOUTHCOM kid and I was assigned to SOUTHCOM for part of my career.

Happens a lot. I remember a certain P-3 going feet dry over there back in 90

Well, I guess the only thing left to be said is that "The AWACS is not a spy plane..." but, guess details don't really matter when it comes down to it.

MSgt Danny Hope - Master Sergeant; I think that you are confused by the fact that "WE" have "areal reconnaissance, and traffic control aircraft" while "THEY" have "spy planes"
