The Chinese have basically killed the aluminum industry in the U.S. 10 years ago there were 17 aluminum smelters in this country, today there are around 8 and most are not operating at full capacity. They subsidize their industry, steal or hack into our industrial data bases. Create an inferior product and dump millions of tons of it on the market trying to break the competition. Glad someone is looking into this, because the prior leadership of this country just sat back.

Good. They would add a tiny bit of another metal like magnesium so they could dump primary alumnum into the US market without paying duties. Cheating bastards. They have NO respect for intellectual property rights. If you build a plant in their country you MUST partner with a chines company and they steal all your machinery designs and work procedures and install a mirror plant in the same industrial park owned by the government. They break into us companies networks and steal r&d and other procssing information and pricing information. They subsidize their aluminum industry with essentially free power. They have done the same with magnesium. Look up who owns the largest supply of manganese production. Look at rare earth production. Steel production.
