Is this supposed to be "journalism"? The current situation is nothing like the Great Depression. In that time, jobs disappeared and workers went begging. There are still jobs today. People simply can't get to them. We're waiting for permission to reopen business. Of course, when the doors are opened, we'll discover that some jobs have disappeared. There will be jobs lost as some organizations don't have the wherewithal to reopen. There will be jobs lost because businesses that were on the verge of closing before the lockdown will find themselves pushed over the edge. Brick and mortar retail outlets have been embroiled in a long decline and the pandemic has merely accelerated their demise. How many jobs will be lost? We'll have to wait and see. Counting them now is foolish. It's counting the eggs before the chickens have hatched...
