More energy on the market equals lower global costs for energy. That hurts the Russian's revenues and profits and helps Americans wallets (along with the rest of the world). OPEC may try to cut production in response but my guess is they will go along to get along. They need us to keep buying and they know Trump will not fall flaccidly before them like the limp noodle they dealt with before.
