This sickens me. Of all the worthy Sailors and Marines, Soldiers and Airmen, even, that Mabus could have picked, MoH awardees, combat heroes, etc, he chose to name this ship after a victim who did nothing more than get shot, and he did it because she's female. What, he couldn't name her after one of the many worthy WAVES from WW2?!

Because mabus is a political tool. The sooner gone the better. I'd rather see Jim Webb in the job, even if he's a democrat v

This is yet another misguided example of the zeal with which the military is used as a political and social tool to promote social and cultural agendas. The military has no say in the matter except to rationalize and justify being politically used as great stuff. There were so many more people worthy of naming a Naval ship after it boggles the mind that the opportunity would be literally wasted on the unfortunate victim of a madman with a gun. Folks are right in their comments about the Leftists.
