VA dentist resigns after possibly infecting 600 veterans with HIV and hepatitis

I actually use the VA in Tomah and I am shocked by the scandals coming out of there. Thankfully, I canceled my recent dental appt and decided to go private for my care. I know he broke protocol on the tools he used, but I wonder if he didn't do what most private dentists do. I know most dentists don't use disposable tools like the VA does. It said that he cleaned his equipment, i wonder if that included sterilization? I am not defending him by any means, he knew the rules and willingly broke them. It seems by the lack of information and the jumping the gun attitude lately, if they are not overacting in the reporting.

They should all be forced to resign and reapply. Despicable.
