I can't believe they said that the risk was considered low. If you are the patient, that is not a low risk when HIV, hepatitis A or C is possible.

They didn't mean that the diseases are low, but that the chances of someone actually getting any of them is low. I have a feeling that even though he didn't follow policy with disposable tools, he did clean and sterilize his tools appropriately. I think the risk of getting them is about same as a civilian dentist infecting his patients.

How about any possible chance that I come into contact with someone infected, should be eliminated. At least let patients know and give them a choice.
