I'm torn on this. We are allowing this type of surgery, but turning so many others away or providing sub-par care to those in need.. The whole system needs to be reevaluated. I am not for or against reassignment surgery - that is not my place nor my call. However, I think before we start adding more controversial procedures to the list, we need to focus on the more prevalent and common.. Not only making care available, but providing TIMELY and QUALITY care. Open up more VAs if you have to. Taking care of our veterans should be this countries TOP priority..

Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I am not surprised that the Department of Veterans Affairs is dropping plans to conduct elective transgender surgeries. I expect an veterans who are eligible for the gender reassignment surgery will need to go through the VA choice program.
