SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL ,
At this point, it most certainly a step in the right direction. It is horrific to know that Veterans are passing away while waiting on medical treatment. Wrong on so many levels.

Where I live in Northern Virginia the wait times have improved significantly SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I called on Thursday for an appointment for assessment of potential for improving my hip bursitis/sciatica and received one the next day. Earlier in the year my appointment for dermatology was within 30 days while last year it was over 90 days which necessitated the VA Choice Program kicking in. Times have improved where I live and I hope they are improving nationwide.
I recognize that depends largely on available staff to meet the service population needs. Thankfully where I live we have the Martinsburg WV and the Washington, DC VAMCs within 45 miles. I know there are veterans who have a choice of only one within 250 miles or so. Hopefully the mobile teams will help improve Veterans being seen and prioritized for care appropriately
