Wow I have been treated by Army doctors and Thank God for them.
My first born was delivered by Army Doctors Great Job.
I use the VA all the time and been treated very well and services on time.
That been said sometimes you have to take control of the situation and make those phone calls and check up on the status of treatment. I know sometimes people fall through the crack but that happens even in the private Hospitals.
You mention a E-3 who was discharged with no rating. This I blame on the leadership because this E-3 should went to the wounded warrior program and been treated and released. Anyone can be shipped there no matter of status. That's even if you where only stateside.
I had to step in and stop a Major (the other Gold Rank) and a Capt from over stepping their rank with a medical issue with 2 OIF soldiers who where blown up and recovery on going from doing PT.
There excuse was they did not have the proper paper work. As I scolded them it was there job to make sure they get the proper paper work.
Take a Stand

Medical here lost his paperwork, then decided he had been discharged so they destroyed his medical record while he was waiting for a med board. They did not forward it on as they were spose to. No record so the med board gave him a zero rating now he has to fight the VA and get it all re documented and try to get the VA to cover all he needs. While still on active and tight at the end of this he tore his knee and cant hardly walk. Medical refused to see him (this is how we all found out what they had done) and the VA told him the surgery to fix his knee was elective and would have to wait a year, they also told him that walking was not a requirement and he was not disabled.

People wonder why I hate the VA. This is the crap I have seen them do to our people.
