...No? Venezuela reminds us that basing your economic policies and social programs off of one major export are a surefire way to find yourself right proper fucked when the market shifts. Add on to that heaping doses of corruption that were only ignored because everyone was making money and you have an easy-bake oven recipe for disaster.

Yup, listen to Bernie Sanders carefully when he is cornered on his thinking. He responds violently and implies the questioner is either taking advantage of the government and should be in jail or that the questioner should be jailed for interfering with a politician. His dark socialist side comes out again and again in interviews but the media would never dare to call him "Hitlerian" because he ran on the Democratic ticket.

NONE of these countries you listed are "more socialist" than Venezuela. Not even close... How about Cuba, Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, WWII Italy, East Germany and most other former eastern block "republics? And let's not forget the poverty of the more extreme Islamist states. Israel has a larger GDP than all or her surrounding Islamic neighbors - combined even before they destroyed themselves with endless civil wars.
