My biggest hope is that companies take this news and help end the underemployment of Veterans. My biggest complaint when it comes to "Hire Veterans" programs is that all too often, companies are more concerned about numbers than they are about providing a meaningful employment opportunity. Veterans bring a lot to the table, the last thing we should be doing is cleaning bathrooms.

SPC (Join to see) - As a hiring manager I get that so somehow we need to figure out as a community how to change this for our future servicemen. Why can't some of the non-profits team up with industry to offer training programs and internships or whatever to get veterans what ever alphabet soup they are looking for.

SGT Ben Keen - Actually I paid that company to write two resumes for the positions I retired out of. CMWC posted two GS positions to fill my vacancy. At first I did not think it was ethical to take either of those positions but after being unemployed for six months I changed my toon. I never made the list from USA Jobs. Once I did that I used the words from those huge resumes to beef up my other ones. I also submitted a different resume for each job. In the end I think all of this happened because here is where I was suppose to end up will be ten years in April and I was not qualified for this job either.

I have countless hours of helping transitioning service members articulate their job responsibilities into 'civilian' language. Many of them could not believe how I was able to make their resume look. There is so much leadership and responsibility that is never articulated in military resumes that sometimes it is difficult to see true qualifications from that resume. They did all the hard work, my only part was showcasing the work. Honestly, I believe most companies want and need these skillsets and it will take more resume writing services to really showcase the qualifications. Sometimes it is lack of qualifications, but most of the time, it is just matching language.

SFC John Lovelady - No it was $500 overall resulted in about ten pages of civilized text plus I do't know if you have tried to get a jog on Gov jobs but they grade the resume based on hits of key words. I used that base resume to build specific one page resumes for each job that I applied to. Writing is not my strong point so all in all it was money well spent.

Kind of funny they push this bill (which is fantastic) but forbid Vets to get job in the federal government (ref: POTUS memorandum dated 23 Jan 2017)
