I don't know about the credibility of the gentleman who has posted the sign. I do know that the couple who make and sell the signs (10 bucks a pop) have been accused of being very shaky individuals as far as supposedly claiming they are using the proceeds to help vets with PTSD.

There's one guy that lives just down the road from where I work, served in Iraq, and has a sign in his yard to please not whip off any fireworks close to his house.
