As for his "showing off" his prosthetics, those people I know who have them, especially for lower limbs have said they tear up clothing like crazy so they tend not to cover them up when possible.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I can see that happening. I've just never seen some always wear short pants while in a suit.

SGM Steve Wettstein we had a triple amputee come and speak to us in a workshop and he told us about the issue with prosthetics. He also said since the prosthetics aren't flesh, they don't sunburn or need as much protection

What makes this case a story is that the Congressman was recently critical of VA, and then this decision comes down. It is hard to believe that is a coincidence.

1SG (Join to see) Agree. The showing off his prosthetics has always irked me. It's not a once off either, I have never seen a picture or seen him on TV in anything other a suit with the legs cut off so he can he can show them off.

SGM Steve Wettstein - based on other puctures I've seen of him i suspect that his clothing is related to the functioning of his artificial limbs rather than a desire to show them off.

Not exactly sure how it works for members of Congress that hold more than one office in their respective districts..i.e. do they get a stipend on the taxpayer dime??

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi I'm pretty sure they get a stipend for office space in their districts.
