Most baby bombers had direct relatives that served in WWII like my Seabee dad, Korea and Vietnam
My grandfather was a Navy gunner on the USS Caldwell (DD69) during WWI.
I think there should be some kind of government service requirement for every US citizen when they become a legal adult. This could be to name a few: the military, first responders, civilian labor force to maintain our National Parks and Forest, tour guides at historic sites and volunteers at VA facilities.
