SFC Bernard Walko He was an arrogant jerk on Active Duty. It was always about him first and his troops second. His arrogance and narcissism were rewarded and now this alleged Officer has 13 dead service members on his hands

The problems in our military extend further than just the upper echelons. Though the issues present in the top brass have the potential for causing the most damage per decision, from the top down, the collective insanity is enough to topple the entire defense of the nation. First, the officers have all been filtered through the university system, which has been purposefully modified to brainwash graduating students. Sadly, even our service academies are not immune from this program. Thus, each officer coming into the service has already been indoctrinated by leftist orthodoxy prior to ever commissioning; they are primed for the very kind of idiocy currently being supported by those like Milley. Next, these officers have control over the careers of NCOs. From first pinning chevrons on their chest until the day they leave the service, each NCO must work to earn good reviews on evaluations or face seeing their careers cut short or, at a minimum, halted. Officers play a vital role in NCO evaluations, thus requiring NCOs to toe the line desired by their raters. By the time officers and NCOs have made their way up the ranks, they have been continuously pushed in a single direction, effectively ensuring the leftist orthodoxy first introduced to young college students pervades the entire military from the top down. Milley is a perfect example of this, and he presently uses the position he finds himself in to push the radical indoctrination further, recommending left-wing reading to the leaders in the military. Furthermore, as the entire military becomes ever more infected with leftist orthodox thinking, the pressure on the newest of recruits to fall in line becomes even greater. Initial training and periodic training activities now push the very same "woke" educational materials onto junior soldiers--things like gender ideology, antiracism, and diversity & inclusivity training. The entire military has become rotten to the core, pushing out any service member who happens to still have a shred of intelligence, dignity, and or integrity. It is only a matter of time before the DoD is rendered absolutely useless, parading around trans service members wearing rainbow flag patches, antifa badges, and screaming leftist screeds. And there is no stopping any of this so long as the only method of commissioning officers lies in earning a college degree (regardless of how worthless the degree) through leftist run universities, as long as the careers of NCOs depend on appeasing officers, and so long as the military and civilian leadership refuse to weed out radicals who seek to spread nonsense. Milley is not the cause of anything but a symptom of a long-suffered disease that has finally started to manifest in a way that has become obvious to even those who don't want to see.

Excellent summation. And sobering. Pissing and moaning on this site is good practice to sharpen arguments and philosophies. The proof is in getting active and loud at town meetings, school boards, supporting the right candidates, constructively harassing your elected officials, defending our way of life. It is a war. Most of us are past vaulting walls and diving into ditches, but we can be THAT old guy. Keep the faith!!

SGT Joseph Gunderson I somewhat agree with the Service Academy stuff. There is some taught there (at least in my time can't vouch for today) that enlisted troops are out to torpedo all young officers and not to be trusted. I was sitting in the middle of my class with my Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Pin and told the instructor, with all due respect, you are full of crap. When he asked me what my evidence that he was wrong was, I pointed to the pin on my chest.
