M-ATV 1 - Tigr 0. However civilian on the shoulder - 100.
However this is a result of Trump's pullout - one step forward two steps back.
Here's a little more context - looks like America troops were slow rolling a Russian patrol when Comrade Leadfoot goes whisky throttle. Lead M-ATV takes necessary action to block advancing convoy.
This took place in Qamishli - a large city/town right on the border with Turkey in Northeast Syria. This is the same area of operation where a US convey was pelted with stones.
Americans, Russians, Syrians, Turks with Kurds sprinkled on top all in close proximity really surprised this hasn't digressed quicker than it has.
Officially our mission there now is to protect oil fields - I feel military leaders may have pulled a fast one on Trump and used that as leverage in getting Trump to agree to leaving 500 troops in the region. Militarily we are assisting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces - protect the oil fields.
Since our exit Russia has quickly pounced and set up a base (same one US operated at the airport) to host military helicopters. From my sources its defended by surface-to-air missile systems (possibly S-400's), a squad of helicopters used for patrolling and a couple of gunships.
The base is as well used to support its military police personnel who are working on the Turkey-Syria border - the guys that got ran off the road.
What I don't like - American troops working an ill-defined mission in Syria (“protect the oil”) and are now forced to navigate roads controlled by Russian and Syrian regime forces. The same ones we once controlled before we pulled out. Just feel with Kurds and SDF forces we are seriously very close to being back to square with these guys.
