I never got the opportunity to do a humanitarian mission. In the Cav we were too busy liberating the hell out of people.

This is the one thing I miss about being retired. Disaster Recovery is one of Seabees Major missions, and I always loved, and hated them at the same time. The love part, was going into to villages and towns and bringing help, by turning power back on, clearing roads, repairing Bridges. The thing that sticks with you, is seeing the children smile when you show up to help. The thing you hate the most is you, are seeing people at their lowest point, or time in their life. God Bless my Brother Seabees and Marines that will be on ground helping the Haitians. did the same mission in 2008 , and then earthquake in 2010, God Help Haitian people.
