that article tells me the police involved did nothing improper. I don't like to blame the victim, especially if he is a decorated veteran. however, I imagine the police arrived Code 1. that means lights and sirens. at 1:30 in the morning, it would be impossible to miss the flashing blue and red lights. I commend Mr. Black's actions defending his grandson. it is nothing less than most fathers and grandfathers would do.
I do have to ask. did Mr. Black fire his weapon after the police arrived? did he point it, either inadvertently or on purpose, at the police officers?

SSG David Gentile - absolutely right. it's 1:30 AM, the adrenaline is pumping, you hear shots being fired as you arrive. you may or may not have a good, if any, description of the bad guy. add flashing lights, probably screams, and general chaos. now add having to make that split second life-and-death decision.

We need to address the revolving door in our judicial system that allows extremely violent criminals back out on the street.

The psychological and physical warfare inflicted upon the citizens of a community.

I'll wait for the results of the investigation if there is any. From what I've picked up of the story it sounds like the cop was both too pumped up and frightened to be effective in policing

SGT Jim Arnold I agree with you also. "Pumped up" is along the lines I was thinking as well.

There are good cops and bad ones. The police need to police their own

Lt Col Charlie Brown Colonel, I could not agree with you more. I have been an LEO supporter and for the most part many, many of them are top notch. You hit the nail on the head - "The police need to police their own." Problem is, they don't. We have devolved in some sort of sissy, mamby-pamby society. Be careful you don't hurt someone's feelings.

SCPO (Join to see) i have seen both sides. I work with the children of officers killed in the LOD. I have also seen incredibly inappropriate police behavior. Well run police forces hold people accountable and others do not.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I asked you if support what Brown said in the fourth sentence of his tirade. Sentences 6 and 7 are equally vile. Do you accept his tenant?
