The Japanese American soldiers' actions Saved those men. Which may have been why Truman was so set on Integrating the Armed Forces ; the Nisei Soldiers were the most decorated Unit in the Army... It didn't go over so well having both African Americans, Native Americans, Nisei Americans receiving more medals for heroism and Valor than the White Soldiers. - America was still Deep in Prejudice and hate of non-whites . Racism was the order of the day for most.
After all those Medals were awarded, one has to think " how many more medals were NOT given because of Racism. Let alone how many were downgraded- a medal was received but a Higher tier medal was put in for.
