Unbelievable. Glad it got stopped before it got started. As of January 24th of this year there was already 11 school shootings. I still think that the idea of putting combat veterans in schools is the way to go.

According to a previous head of Homeland Security said all veterans are a threat. Senator Diane Feinstein said all veterans should not be allowed to have guns. BUT I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU BROTHER.

Senator Feinstein is 84 years old - she should have to demonstrate she has the necessary skills to maintain her concealed carry permit every six months.

R u kidding me?? That's a joke right? Please tell me that's a joke!! Veterans are a threat, that's why they're making a movie about the American veterans who stopped a terror attack in Paris right. Grrrrrrrrr...

I heard on the radio this morning that he was trying to purchase 5000 rounds of ammunition, so not just some ammunition.

SSgt Christopher Brose nvm, I didn't notice your quotations. Yes, some enthusiast can. If I had possession of a belt or drum/hopper fed weapon I could lay that kind of lead down range. But alas, not many of us have access to that kind of fun in the civilian world.

LCpl Shane Couch - I personally wouldn't be trying to send 5000 rounds downrange in one day, unless I was trying to accomplish something specific. 500 rounds is a more typical day for me. Still, 5000 rounds is ten days or so at the range, which isn't unreasonable for a gun enthusiast.
All that to say: Often in news reports, we hear the reporter breathlessly exclaim that someone was found with 1000 rounds of ammo in their possession as if that's an incredible, inconceivable amount of ammo that no sane person would ever have a legitimate use for. And then people like me and LTC (Join to see) say to ourselves, "That's just a day at the range."
Now, in this particular instance, I think the 5000 rounds is significant because of all the other factors in the story. But generally speaking, the number of rounds reported often isn't nearly as significant as the people doing the reporting think it is.

SSgt Christopher Brose - Not in a day, but when my 2 daughters were shooting bolt action .22 rifles competitively I bought 5,000 rounds (a full case of .22LR) several times a year.

Confusing indeed, LTC (Join to see)! Any other skeletons in his closet? Poor illegal alien. Can't even make his own firearm! I'm sure we dogged a bullet here. LOL OK, I'm done being punny! Hahaha
