LTC Eugene Chu , Disturbing news about the post 9-11 GI Bill (PGIB). Please take a look at this July 2021 National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) study on the PGIB's limited effectiveness (link below). The lead author is Andrew Barr from Texas A&M University. The other authors are from University of Michigan (Laura Kawano), Dartmouth College, William & Mary (Bill Skimmyhorn), and U.S. Department of the Treasury.

"..but only for those in public institutions did this translate into increases in bachelor’s degree attainment and longer-run earnings. For specific groups of students, large subsidies can modestly help degree completion but harm long run earnings due to lost labor market experience."
