Saw this on Friday - I rarely watch movies on opening nights (to avoid crowds, etc.,) but decided to take a chance and made an exception. This was WORTH IT!
Okay, on the negative side it portrays the stereotypical military bad guy. But Woody Harrelson does a convincing job of being a villain that you *almost* feel sorry for. Meanwhile, Andy Serkis is amazing as Caesar, leader of the apes. If any performance wins him an Oscar for MoCap (motion capture,) it'll be this one! Finally, Amiah Miller plays the young girl whose eyes speak volumes. She'll be one to watch in the years to come.
